Earlier this month I did a blog post about the new RealPay package from Realex Payments. Today Realex Payments announced that they have signed up 110 new businesses for online payment processing services in June 2009. This is an increase of 38% on their figures for the previous month. I think these figures further emphasise the point I was making in my previous Blog post - the new pricing plans offered by SagePay and Realex have greatly reduced the barrier for entry for anyone wanting to accept online payments in Ireland.
Realex also reported that during the month of June they processed €550 million worth of payments. This was an increase of over €60 million on the figures for May. These figures are good news for those of us involved in e-commerce, web development and online payments. At a time when other industries and businesses seeing a slowdown, e-commerce is continuing to grow.
