OWASP will hold its first Irish Application Security conference in Dublin on September 10 2009. The conference will consist of a day of talks/presentations and discussion. There will be two different tracks focusing on the causes and trends in web application insecurity.
The conference hosts a selection of international and local speakers with keynotes from Professor Ian O. Angell and Danny Allen. I will be presenting with Conor Mc Goveran from Onformonics. The title of our presentation is "Who can afford to build secure web applications?". SecurityNinja aka David Rook who is a regular poster on our forums will also be presenting. The title of his presentation is "Web Application Security Testing with the Burp Suite".
Registration for the conference is now open. The conference is very competitively priced at €110 for OWASP members and €150 for non OWASP members. OWASP membership is only $50 so if you are attending it is worth becoming a member before signing up for the conference. OWASP have now introduced an early bird offer. If you book by June 30 registration is €90 and if you book by August 31 registration is €100.
On the day prior to the conference OWASP will hold a one day training course titled "Foundations of Web Application Security". The training course will focus on the most common web application security problems including the OWASP top 10. The course will demonstrate hacking techniques to illustrate how application security vulnerabilities are exploited. The cost of the training course is €450. This is great value for a full day application security training course.
