Realex Payments Web Developers Christmas Get TogetherPosted by: Dave on Nov 26, 2009 |

Web developers have always been early adopters for new web technologies and social media has been no different. As a result, social media sites have become good platforms to engage with developers. Realex Payments have a tradition of engaging with developers by sponsoring and attending events within the community such as the recent Web Awards. Over the past 6 months Realex have also expanded efforts to engage with developers more often through their commitment to social media, they now actively use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Speaking recently at UCD, Colm Lyon, founder and CEO of Realex Payments, spoke about scaling up Internet businesses in Ireland and how Realex Payments are now connecting with developers more and more through social media.

Of course, though social media can go some way to narrowing the gap between an organisation and a community it wishes to connect with, there is no substitute for a relaxed, informal evening to help solidify relationships. Realex Payments are holding a web developer drinks evening in Dakota in Dublin on Wednesday, 2nd December. It will be an informal evening, with food and drinks sponsored by Realex, a chance to network with other web developers and also an opportunity to get to know Realex staff in a more informal setting. It is also worth mentioning that Realex have a partner referral programme paying a referral fee of €50 for each new client you refer as a Realex partner. The referral fee is payable when the the client goes live. The referral programme also has advantages for web developers other than monetary. When you signup to the referral programme you will be listed on the Realex Payments website, where you can include contact details, email and logo.
If you are interested in attending the web developer drinks evening you can DM any of the Realex staff on Twitter or else contact them via email. Similarly you can contact them about the Referral programme by phone, Twitter or email.

Hi Diarmuid,
Again sorry for the delay in answering. I was out of the country at the time so was unable to attend. I heard good reports about it and sounds like everyone had a good night. Did you attend?
Dave
