Obopay, who earlier this year partnered with Nokia to launch Nokia Money, have now announced their entrance to the online games market. Users can link their credit or debit card to their mobile phone number. They can then use their mobile number for making in-game purchases. The figures quoted are "6 billion mobile phones but only 1.6 million bank accounts". Nokia will targeting emerging economies with this service. The service is being launched in conjunction with Obopay, a mobile payments provider operating in the US and India. Last year Nokia invested $70 million in Obopay.
