Realex Payments have launched a revamped technical resource center for 2010. The newly updated resource centre providers users with a comprehensive list of developer guides, sample code in a range of programming languages, a discussion forum and access to Realex Payments Blogs. The sign-up process for the resource center is simple and you get immediate access.

WorldNet Recently announced the launch of Europe's first iPhone Virtual Terminal card payment application. The application allows businesses to accept secure card payment transactions through their iPhone using either 3G or WiFi. The WorldNet Virtual Terminal is available for download now in the App Store for €4.99.

Virtual and social currency is continuing to grow in popularity. Last week saw Sometrics launch a social gaming community and virtual currency marketplace gamecoins.com. The site uses Facebook Connect to reduce the barrier for signing up and as a result they have 20k users signed up. Sometrics started out providing application developers with metrics on their Facebook applications but they soon moved into the area of virtual currency.

Visa have launched Rightcliq By Visa, an online shopping tool marketed as the smarter, simpler way to shop online. Rightcliq uses a combination of the rightcliq website and a browser plugin to allow users manage their online shopping activities. Users can collect, organize and compare products, get advice from friends, browse deals, track purchases and check-out faster on merchant websites. You can signup for Rightcliq here.

WorldNet launch new corporate website

Posted by Dave in WorldNet TPS , web development , PayPal , online payments , news , ireland , iphone , e-commerce

WorldNet logoLast week WorldNet TPS launched a new corporate website. The new site has a modern look and feel, provides detailed information about the services provided by WorldNet and includes a partner’s section and a developer’s lounge. As well as an integrated twitter feed the new site also features a corporate blog. It's not yet clear if this blog will be used as a platform issuing press releases or if it will be used for discussions relating to online payments or a combination of both. Hopefully it is a combination of both :)

The new website contains a labs section that details research and experimental projects that WorldNet are working on. Currently there are four projects listed, two in particular I find interesting.

An iPhone Payments Library that allows developers to build credit and debit card payments into their iPhone applications. WorldNet will be hot on the heels of PayPal who recently released a beta version of their own mobile payments library to US merchants.

The Payments Analytics Application is a data visualisation tool that will allow WorldNet clients to view their payment data in real-time. Google Analytics and Statcounter are two useful tools for gaining an insight in your visitors browsing habits. Information gained from such analytic tools allow website owners to optimise their sites to best meet needs and expectations of their visitors. If the equivalent information could be provided about online payments in real-time then it could be very useful for Irish e-commerce sites.

I will be bookmarking the labs page so I can follow the progression of these projects.
